Dr. Angela Gichaga is a public and social sector enthusiast with experience working across civil service, consulting, and NGOs and academia.

She is an executive coach, human capital and leadership development advisor with regional and global expertise, as well as an exceptional track record of optimizing performance. 

Angela has held leadership positions in government, leading large teams in operational excellence and is now the CEO of a global health advisory firm for developing country governments. 

She firmly believes that performance can be optimized in any sector and organization by increasing self-awareness, challenging limiting beliefs and supporting a “can do” mindset in leaders and teams.

As a leader, Angela brings a global perspective to coaching, having studied, lived and/or (traveled for) work(ed) in 5 out of the 7 continents. Her experiences and exposure add value to her intercultural coaching and support of leaders transitioning to global roles. As a mentor and coach, she has supported the human capital development and performance of high potential leaders for years. Being a young African woman on a global stage, she’s particularly keen to increase the visibility of women and young people on global platforms, especially of those from the global south.

Angela believes that coaching is a great avenue to optimize potential and performance. Given that human beings are whole, capable and resourceful, her approach to coaching is based on deep reflection and tapping into intrinsic abilities and experiences. Leaders’ today are constantly bombarded with information and action-oriented requests: they rarely get sufficient time to pause and reflect. 

With increased access to information and skills, the role of leaders, in organizations and government, continues to evolve and leaders require increased agility in switching between these roles. Angela’s goal is to provide sufficient safety and permission in the coaching journey for exploration and vulnerability, while acting as a mirror and/or sounding board.

As CEO of the Financing Alliance for Health, a global health organization advising African governments on their primary healthcare financing strategies. In partnership, focused >US$120 Million across 17+ countries. Increased the organization’s cumulative funding by 23x.

Served the MOH Kenya as a District Medical Officer of Health (DMOH) and a hospital in charge (MEDSUP) in both Meru and Garbatulla, leading ~150 multi-disciplinary team members through coordinating strategic planning, resource mobilization, service delivery, recruitment, monitoring and capacity building.
